Il muro - (II) Preview

Il muro (El muro), es un proyecto mural que consiste en la intervención de unos tableros con motivos que de una manera u otra tienen que ver con la ciudad de Roma. Todos los proyectos de Il muro se realizan en el Estudio 23 de la Academia de España en Roma y se engloban dentro del proyecto de "Roma: Línea B".

Esto es un adelanto de la segunda pieza.

Il muro (The Wall), is a mural project that involves the intervention of a few boards with elements that, in one way or another, have relation with the city of Rome. All projects of Il muro are performed in the Studio 23 at the Academy of Spain in Rome and are included within the project "Roma: Linea B".

Blu (II)

Otra impresionante obra de Blu realizada en el antiguo estadio de carreras de Galgos en el barrio romano de Marconi, ahora un centro social ocupado por LOA Acrobax en el Ex-Cinodromo. Fiel a su estilo Blu hace una crítica a algunos de los aspectos de la sociedad moderna, al comportamiento humano, a la religión, a la represión del Estado, a la corrupción, a los poderes económicos… todo bajo la aparente imagen de un antiguo palacio romano decorado. Another amazing work by Blu made on the old Greyhound racing stadium in Marconi (Rome), now an occupied community center by LOA Acrobax in Ex-Cinodromo. True to his style makes Blu criticism of some aspects of modern society, human behavior, religion, state repression, corruption, economic powers ... all under the apparent image of an ancient Roman decorated building. El entramado ferroviario en Roma es complejo.

La ciudad cuenta con una extensa red de trenes que van desde los de larga distancia, los regionales, el metro hasta tranvías. Este entramado condiciona plenamente la morfología de la ciudad y su paisaje urbano, creando cicatrices metálicas que esquivan por el aire o bajo tierra otras grandes cicatrices como el río Tíber, carreteras u otras líneas de tren. Desde algunos pasos elevados o estaciones pueden verse interesantes vistas de la red de vías de la capital.

Termini (la estación principal ) es el núcleo ferroviario más importante de la ciudad y uno de los más importantes de Italia. Hay otros que personalmente me han llamado la atención por su morfología como el caso de Roma Ostiense (media y larga distancia), Nuovo Salario (mercancías) y Piramide (Metro y línea Roma-Lido). Entre otras.

Railways

The railway network is complex in Rome. 

The city has an extensive network of trains: long distance, regional, metro and the tram. This network determines the morphology of the city and its urban landscape, creating metal scars dodging through the air or underground other large scars as the Tiber River, roads or other train lines. Since some overpasses or stations could be interesting views of the city's railways.

Termini (the main station) is the most important railway hub of the city and one of the most important in Italy. There are others who have personally called my attention by their morphology: Roma Ostiense (middle and long distance), Nuovo Salario (freights), Piramide (Metro and Roma-Lido line). Among others.

Monteverde Vecchio

 

     

Este barrio situado en la parte occidental de Roma queda lejos del circuito turístico a pesar de prácticamente confundirse con la parte alta del Trastevere. Es curioso el contraste su zona alta y su zona baja. En la parte alta -la más cercana al Gianicolo- hay más vegetación y los edificios tienen un aspecto más señorial, pero conforme se desciende por la colina hacia el sur en dirección opuesta a su gran joya (el parque de Villa Pamphili) nos encontramos con su parte baja donde los bloques de viviendas pasan a ser más humildes y sustituyen a la frondosa vegetación de la parte alta.

En este barrio se encuentra el gran mirador de Roma, el Gianicolo pero también es el barrio donde vivió el director de cine italiano Pier Paolo Pasolini y donde escribió una novela ambientada en él: Ragazzi di vita.

El día que lo recorrí era un día gris y lluvioso. No se si por esta razón o por un guiño a las películas de Pasolini he puesto las fotos en blanco y negro.

Monteverde Vecchio

This neighborhood located in the western part of Rome is not very touristy, despite being near the Trastevere. It is curious to contrast the upper and lower area. At the top -the closest part to Gianicolo- there is more vegetation and buildings have a more stately appearance, but as you go down the hill to the south opposite to its real gem (the park of Villa Pamphili) you find its lower part where the apartment blocks become more humble and replace the lush vegetation of the upper side.

This neighborhood is the best viewpoint of Rome, the Gianicolo, but also the neighborhood where lived the Italian film director Pier Paolo Pasolini and where he wrote Ragazzi di vita, a novel set in Monteverde. 

The day I did my route was gray and rainy. I don't know if for this reason or for a tribute to the films of Pasolini I have put the photos in black and white.

10th por Sento. Nueva York (80's).

10th por Sento. Roma (2005 aprox.) [foto tomada en 2014]

10th (Tenth) es el throw up de uno de los nombres del reconocido escritor de graffiti neoyorkino Sento. Del mismo modo que dejó esta marca en los años dorados del graffiti del metro de Nueva York (mediados de los 80), también ha dejado esta misma marca -20 años después- en el metro de Roma. La foto está hecha el 23 de enero de 2014, aunque la pieza data del año 2005 (aproximadamente).

10th (Tenth) throw up is one of the names of renowned graffiti writer Sento from New York. In the same way he left this mark in the golden years of subway graffiti in New York (middle 80's), he has also made this same brand -20 years later- on the Rome subway. The photo is made ​​on January 23, 2014, although the piece dates from the year 2005 (approximately).
