Space Invaders a Roma

Estas intervenciones urbanas -un clásico dentro del street art- son obra de Invader, un artista francés que pega sus personajes (inspirados en el clásico videojuego Space Invaders) en pequeños cuadros de colores que simulan ser pixeles y forman un mosaico con los personajes del juego. Comenzó en París en 1998 y desde entonces lo hace por varias ciudades del planeta, incluyendo Roma.

Muchas de las intervenciones son arrancadas por los dueños de la pared, las autoridades de la ciudad y seguramente por coleccionistas conscientes del valor artístico de estas piezas.

He decidido meter algunos invaders que he encontrado por Roma y también los restos de algunos ya desaparecidos cuya huella ha perdurado.

Space Invaders in Rome

These classic in the street-art-one urban interventions are the work of Invader, a French artist who pastes his characters (inspired by the classic video game Space Invaders) in small colored squares that simulate pixels and form a mosaic with the game characters. He began in Paris in 1998 and since then he does for several cities in the world, including Rome.

Many interventions are torn by the owners of the wall, the city authorities and probably by collectors aware of the artistic value of these pieces.

I decided to put some invaders I found Rome and also the remains of missing ones and some whose impact has endured.

Clet Abraham

 

Algunas señales del centro de Roma están intervenidas de una manera no muy transgresora pero si ingeniosa. El artífice de las que muestro es Clet Abraham, un artista francés que trabaja en Italia desde 1990. No es propiamente un artista urbano, aunque sus intervenciones sobre las señales de tráfico han hecho que su trabajo sea visible para aquellos que pasean por las calles de Roma, entre ellos yo.

Clet Abraham

Some signs of Rome city center are customized in a not so transgressive but ingenious way. The creator of that I show is Clet Abraham, a French artist who worked in Italy since 1990. He's not exactly an urban artist, although their interventions on road signs have made their work visible to those who walk through the streets of Rome, including me.
