Panda

Panda es uno de los grandes bombers de Roma. A pesar de llevar varios años sin pintar en la ciudad, parece como si todavía siguiese activo. Sus tags y su famoso flop PA! pueden verse por todas partes.

Panda is one of the great bombers of Rome. Despite have been several years without painting in the city, it seems as if he hasn't leaving it. You can see his tags and his famous PA! throw-up everywhere.

The Serigrapher

En junio, el grupo HB organizó el evento The Serigrapher en el Atelier Montez, que consistía en la realización en directo de 3 modelos de camisetas a cargo de tres artistas de graffiti romanos: Sugo TRV, Vela THE e Imos Nº. Durante el evento podía verse el proceso completo de estampación, desde el dibujo original hasta su paso a la tela. En el evento también se podía ver una exposición de diseños para estampación sobre camisetas y sudaderas a cargo del grupo HB Production. Todo ello amenizado con DJ's y música en directo.

In June, the HB crew organized The Serigrapher at Atelier Montez, an event which consist of performing live 3 models of tshirts by three Roman graffiti artists: Sugo TRV, Vela THE and Imos Nº  During the event you could see the entire printing process, from the original drawing until it passes to the fabric. In the event you could also see an exhibition of designs for printing on t-shirts and sweatshirts by HB Production. All enlivened with DJ's and live music.

Il Muro - (IV) Roma Bizarra

Il muro (El muro), es un proyecto mural que consiste en la intervención de unos tableros con motivos que de una manera u otra tienen que ver con la ciudad de Roma. Todos los proyectos de Il muro se realizan en el Estudio 23 de la Academia de España en Roma y se engloban dentro del proyecto de "Roma: Línea B".

La cuarta y última entrega la he realizado en colaboración del artista romano Bizarre Dee. Roma Bizarra representa la parte más extraña y contradictoria de la ciudad a través de personajes extraños e iconografía ligada al graffiti.

Il muro (The Wall), is a mural project that involves the intervention of a few boards with elements that, in one way or another, have relation with the city of Rome. All projects of Il muro are performed in the Studio 23 at the Academy of Spain in Rome and are included within the project "Roma: Linea B".

The fourth and final work is made featuring the Roman artist Bizarre Dee. Roma Bizarra is the most strange and contradictory part of the city represented by strange people and graffiti iconography.

Blade NYC

Blade es una de las leyendas vivas del graffiti. Sus primeros trabajos sobre los vagones del metro neoyorkino datan de principios de los años 70, lo que le convierte en uno de los pioneros del writing tal y como lo conocemos hoy en día, con su morfología de rellenos, 3D, sombras, outline, brillos…

Estos días la galería de arte Varsi de Roma, especializada en arte urbano, le dedica una muestra que recoge algunos lienzos y fotografías realizados por el artista.

Blade is one of the living legends of graffiti. His early work on New York's subway dating from the early '70s, making him one of the pioneers of writing as we know it today, with its morphology fillings, 3D shadows, outline, lights... 

These days the art gallery Varsi at Rome, specialized in urban art, devotes an exhibition that contains some artist's paintings and photographs.

10th por Sento. Nueva York (80's).

10th por Sento. Roma (2005 aprox.) [foto tomada en 2014]

10th (Tenth) es el throw up de uno de los nombres del reconocido escritor de graffiti neoyorkino Sento. Del mismo modo que dejó esta marca en los años dorados del graffiti del metro de Nueva York (mediados de los 80), también ha dejado esta misma marca -20 años después- en el metro de Roma. La foto está hecha el 23 de enero de 2014, aunque la pieza data del año 2005 (aproximadamente).

10th (Tenth) throw up is one of the names of renowned graffiti writer Sento from New York. In the same way he left this mark in the golden years of subway graffiti in New York (middle 80's), he has also made this same brand -20 years later- on the Rome subway. A las puertas de Roma

 

 

 

 

Las puertas de Roma, situadas principalmente en las murallas, servían como puntos control de acceso a la ciudad aunque también eran utilizadas para fines militares. Las más conocidas son la Porta Maggiore (o Porta Prenestina), la Porta del Popolo (Flaminia o San Valentino), la Porta Appia (más tarde Porta San Sebastiano), Porta Portese, Porta San Giovanni, etc. Todas ellas marcadas por el peso de la historia.

Hoy quiero mostrar otras puertas anónimas que nunca tendrán un lugar en la historia de la ciudad pero que merece la pena fijarse en ellas. En el centro y en barrios como el Trastevere son abundantes y, aunque no hayan sido objeto de grandes acontecimientos, nos cuentan otras pequeñas historias de gentes de muy diversos lugares del mundo que, como peregrinos, acaban confluyendo en la capital italiana.

At the gates of Rome

The gates of Rome, located mainly in the city walls, served as checkpoints to the city but  also were used for military purposes. The best known are Porta Maggiore (Porta Prenestina), Porta del Popolo (Flaminia or San Valentino), Porta Appia (later Porta San Sebastiano), Porta Portese, Porta San Giovanni, etc.. All of them marked by the weight of history.

Today I want to show another anonymous doors will never have a place in the history of the city but it is worth looking at them.
